So, first of all, I had senior ball this weekend. Leah Gates, my date, was a great person and I had a lot of fun. We went to Boondocks in the morning, dinner and dance in the evening, and a cabin up in Sundance until 12:30. No doubt one of the most epic parts of the day was the men vs. women in laser tag. The men, dominated, obviously, but a girl got the high score, unfortunately. Another huge part of the fun was the men dancing to "It's Raining Men", when really it was all pushing and shoving. All in all, a great experience that I will remember for a long time.

And now on to rugby. Just got done watching the United vs. Highland rugby game for the national championship. United won 22-17. Congrats to my buddy from South Africa, Luke Mocke, who is the scrumhalf for United.
While watching, I noticed a lot of differences in the game that I can reflect back to for my own team, Provo. I've noticed how Americans don't rugby tackle very well. Sure, those high tackles may work in football, but for the most part, don't work in rugby. In addition, Highland, though portrayed as wonderful in the film, "Forever Strong", are dirty players. My own team played them, losing 107-0, and the players were arrogant and annoying, even though we dominated their scrums. And after Springville, Highland were certainly the dirtiest team we played. Larry Gelwix is portrayed as a wonderful man in the film, but in reality, is not at all. He gets on his players and is cocky, even giving an earful to my own coach. We played United as well, losing 58-12, but was a much cleaner game and far more fun.
Anyway, that's my blog for today. All in all, a great weekend.
